What is coaching?Coaching is creating a partnership to help individuals achieving their goals.It's totally supportive.As ICF defines:"Coaches are trained to listen,to observe and to customize their approach to individual client needs.They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client ".
The coach believes that the client is resourceful and creative to solve her/his problem or to achieve to her/his goal.
How is coaching different than consulting?A consultant is a person who is skillful in a specific area and people can hire them to take a solution and advice from him/her,the consultant doesn't get involved with areas outside of their specialty.A coach collaborate with the client to create a solution using the client knowledge and answers.
Is coaching therapy?Absolutely not! therapy is about the past events.Coaching is about goal setting and encouragement.A therapist works with people who have disfunctionalities to give them functionality.Acoach works with functional people to give them extraordinary life.
Why do people hire a coach?Sometimes individuals are too overwhelmed with an especial issue so that they are not able to evaluate the situation,coach helps them to be clarified and abled to make the fogs be cleared.Sometimes individuals need support to move forward,a coach can help them through their movements by co-creating of a plan for how to achieve what they really want.
